Isolden [unlabeled] by Neyjour Isolden [unlabeled] by Neyjour
Isolden [unlabeled] Christina Roberts (Neyjour) 2014

This is my first attempt at a world map.  Loads of fun, but lots of work... :P

You can view the WIP thread here: Isolden (my 1st world map)
Many, many thanks to everyone at the Cartographers' Guild who commented, liked, repped, and helped me out with this! :)

I finished the base map in December 2013, but never got around to labeling it.  I'm still swamped with other projects
and have no idea when I'll have time to finally finish it up with the labels, so...

...because I'd LOVE to see what others come up with for labels/names for the various locations, areas, points of interest, etc.,
I'm going to give my permission for this map to be shared/redistributed, but only under the following conditions:

~RULES~
:bulletred: For non-commercial use ONLY (absolutely NO commercial use whatsoever, including "virtual" currency).
:bulletred: You may NOT share/redistribute this zip file or the map in its unlabeled form.  If someone wants to download
it, please direct them to my deviantART gallery.
:bulletred: You MAY share/redistribute this map AFTER you have added your own labels.
:bulletred: You MAY add your own name, website url, etc. to your labeled version.
:bulletred: Other than adding labels, your name, etc., do NOT alter/modify the map in any other way.  This includes
cropping, colour/lighting changes, texture additions, or anything else that changes the basic appearance of the base
map, or obscures the name/title (Isolden) and my URL address.
:bulletred: One exception to changing the appearance of the base map is that you MAY add your own roads/paths
and symbols/icons, including placing them over the existing ones (both on the map and in the legend box) and adding
additional ones.
:bulletred: I would prefer it that the map be shared/redistributed at its original full-resolution (2500 x 3000), but if you
absolutely must resize it due to size/dimension restrictions, then go ahead.
:bulletred: You MUST credit me AND provide a link back to my deviantART gallery.
:bulletred: You MUST notify me (either in the comments on the map's deviantART page, via a deviantART Note, or via email)
and provide a link to where it's displayed.  I want to see what you've done!  And I'll also add your link to the map's deviantART
page so others can find and see it as well.
:bulletred: You MUST include a disclaimer that your labeled version is for personal/private non-commercial use ONLY, and
may NOT be shared/redistributed.  Basically, redistribution stops with YOU.  Your labeled version may NOT be displayed,
uploaded, made available for download, etc., by anyone else or anywhere other than where YOU post it.
:bulletred: If you're unsure about the rules or have any questions in general, please don't hesitate to ask.
(Email would be best).

If you've read the rules and agree to them, go ahead and download the zip file, which contains the full-rez version (2500 x 3000).
The preview displayed here is only 50% resolution.

I hope you have fun labeling it!  I'm looking forward to seeing the different versions of "Isolden", and I hope gamers will enjoy
picking a favourite to use for their adventures!
(As I noted in the rules, I'll be adding links to the labeled versions here.)

Kids these days and their darned PictureShop computer softwares. Back when I was a lad we did our world maps in MacPaint--sometimes pixel by pixel! And we were darn grateful to have it, too, because the IBM PC clones other people had didn't do crap for graphics. We had two colors: white and black. Now everyone's got all these newfangled 32-bit color thingies. And Layers. We didn't have layers. And only one level of Undo, too! And we liked it.

Back when I was a kid, we'd never even heard of MacPaint.  But, we had this nifty thing at school called an Apple II, that could "draw" green lines on a black screen!  And if you were good enough, you could even make a stick figure with it... Woohoo!!  :happybounce:  :D (Big Grin)

I started on a TRS-80 Model III. I win :)

I should dig out some of my old Mac Paint world maps and post them here. It was amazing how nice a map you could get within the limitations of the software. But you did often have to work pixel by pixel.

LOL!  Thanks!  :D

And yes, I concede to the winner.  Hehehe!  ;)  You should post your pixel maps!  Someone just recently posted a small one at the CG and it was pretty cool!  I'm really in awe of pixel artists... I'm seen some truly amazing work here at DA, but woah... I'd never have the patience for that! :P

My pixel maps are all on 800 KB Macintosh discs which nothing can read anymore. I may have some printouts in a file somewhere. I will check soon.
