It's been years since I've hand-drawn anything, and this is my first time doing anything in an anime style. I really enjoyed it. It felt good to do something different, and to hold a pencil in my hand again after so long.

This is "L" from the Death Note anime series. I absolutely love him. After watching the last episode *sniff* (and episode 25 in particular *cries*) I knew I had to do a picture of him.

I started out with a pencil sketch, using a screencap for reference. Then I inked it and coloured it with watercolour pencils, scanned it into my computer and cleaned it up in PSP8. Then background textures, layer blending, brushes, and text to finish it all up. It turned out a hell of a lot better than I had expected. I'm really happy.
